WATER SNOWFLAKE

It was last year, that while surfing the net for aquatic plants, one came across a beautiful flower, which had tiny hair growing on each petal called “water snowflakes” and rightly so.

The botanical name is difficult to pronounce, “Nymphoides Indica”. It is a freshwater plant and found growing as a weed in the tropical climate in marshy areas. Once it starts blooming, multiple flowers erupt from nodes giving the container a look as if snowflakes have covered it.

It is also called “Marsh Wort”. It is a perennial plant and loves shallow water. It enjoys partial shade but can survive in full sun too. Water Snowflake is not a fussy plant at all. Just plant it and forget it, almost zero maintenance.

This is the time when they start blooming. They come in two colours, both are in our collection. One is white with a yellow core and this one is totally yellow. The white ones shall bloom shortly.

The flower lasts only one day, but then in each node multiple buds sprout and keep blooming in a continuous cycle.

It is a beauty indeed. What says you? I wonder!!!!!!!
