What is happening in this world? People have
forgotten what peace is. Swear, I am not at all comfortable with the present
situation. Though sitting in India and quite far away from where bombs are
raining, I feel relatively safe. We are not affected directly, but indirectly
we all are.
Imagine if there was total peace on earth.
America was busy singing the blues and country music. Russia, doing the Cossack
dance, Japan and Korea, busy producing electronics, China, teaching Kungfu to
the world. India, busy with its cuisine and classical dances. People writing
songs that voices never shared and no one dared, whispering the sound of sirens. Then the guns go silent.
What we hear instead is the sound of blasts,
drones, aircrafts and missiles flying overhead. Huge bangs followed by a flash
of a neon light. Lasers, tracers, smoke trails, dark clouds of burning oil are
all over the place which once were part of ancient civilizations.
Reminds me of the word ‘Yudh’ or war and in the
process of war there is ‘Vadh’ or killing. There are basically two parties
called ‘Sur’ and ‘Asur’. In the present circumstances, who is what, no one can
say but can definitely make up his/her mind as to who belongs to which party.
There are kind of Pandavs, lesser in numbers
but high in determination and resilience and then there are Kauravs who are in
large numbers and can defeat any enemy, so they think, but are beaten by
smaller forces like Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, Afghanistan and now Iran. They fled
all battle fields and most probably once they see their body bag count rising,
they shall retreat again.
Why are we fighting? Because there is a
perceived threat of the other conniving to destroy you. Yes, with our western
neighbour, I can understand. They live in denial, peddle lies, they do not know
what peace is all about. They do not want it either for their survival.
Now David is trying to kill them with a sling.
Goliath had a false ego that he is the strongest and no one could conquer him.
A small stone hit at the right place like Ravan was arrowed in his belly button
where he hid all his energy. That is what Afghanistan is doing to Pakistan.
The very people they fed, armed, gave refuge
to, trained for someone else’s war have now turned against them. They are not
at peace and they won’t let us live in peace is their formula. I hope they find
the chemical which acts as a catalyst for lasting peace. We all can live
happily ever after.
In our drawing rooms also, there is war. A
self-created war of ideas and ideologies. Who is creating them is the ‘Vish
Kanyas’ (a term borrowed from a very famous educator) and the equivalent of
this term for males. ‘Vishdhari Purush’ (coined by me), if I can call those who
anchor TV debates and garner support of all and sundry to echo views of the
party they and their owners are inclined to.
Given a choice, sitting in their studios they
can decimate countries, start a communal riot, make everyone apologise for
things people have not done, burst a few arteries with their dose of high BP
content they dish out. Such Kanyas and Purush should be banned to appear on the
idiot box.
They think they are doing a good job for the
nation, but I feel otherwise. The peace and calm of the “rukawat ke liye khed
hai” DD days are long gone. These anchors have such missiles and drones in
their armoury that they can kill the very idea to keep abreast of what is
happening in the nation and the world at large. The verbal diarrhea when it
spreads on the floor as Raita not only stinks but leaves a bad taste. Peace on
earth and mercy mild becomes war on earth and shooting peaceful minds.
That one bomb made from yellow cake that the
world is after to enrich and show its muscles like bodybuilders after having
protein shake is of no use. If those bodybuilders use their energy in doing
community work, it would be ideal. But if as bouncers, they start knocking off
people with strong punches, it would lead people to gang up, form new alliances
and beat this body builder to pulp. You know what I mean.
This kind of destruction which is happening for
years on end needs to end soon. One wrong move and there would be disaster on
earth.
Overall, the situation is grim with no end in
sight. Hope good sense prevails and all parties realise that the only way to
spend time on earth is to bring peace and stability all over the world. If
animals can understand the rules of the jungle, animals with grey matter can
surely do so. Will they? I wonder!!!!!!!
