RUNNING TO TOWN

As they say, “Jab geedar ki ‘maut’ ati hai woh Shahar ki taraf bhagta hai”. (When a jackal wants to die, it runs towards the town). It simply implies that when someone is in ‘deep trouble’, he takes certain wrong steps and gets into agony himself. It also means that if correct actions are not taken timely, then chances are things go wrong.

Another implication of this idiom is that when someone wants to ‘avoid trouble’, he choses a wrong path or when one faces difficult times, he goes looking for advice and solutions from wrong people and places, jeopardising his own existence.

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, this straight away applies to our troublesome neighbour Pakistan and specifically to the thought process and mindset of their Army Chief General Asim Munir, who revealed it in the lecture he gave to the overseas Pakistanis recently.

I say this in the context of the ‘massacre’ and ‘savagery’ these dastards did in Pahalgam. I feel sorry and sad for the people who got killed and offer my deepest condolences to the bereaved families. My heart also goes out to the injured. Almost thirty dead and so many injured. All their families are shattered. They went to find happiness and what did they get in return, we all saw those videos available on social media. My guts have been churning since.

I held my horses to react as my mind was unsettled with this butchery done by those cowards. They cannot be humans for sure. No way they know ‘I’ of Islam. Allah will never give them 72 but send them to ‘Dozak’ for sure.

Well, Munir saab, you proved the idiom right. You have been running time and again towards a town called India for your existence. This time you sent your proxies with a message to us that now you are free to do what you want. Be rest assured we will.

The first step in that direction is the fallout of the CCS committee meeting. Abhi to picture baki hai general saab, aage-aage dekho hota hai kya.

The ‘jugular’ which you mentioned has been severed with India withdrawing from the Indus water treaty. You were planning to build canals, go ahead and do it. Now go looking for water which you will not get. All the three rivers you had access to will now serve us. You can take a walk in their dry beds. To hell with your agriculture and thirst.

This withdrawal should have been done immediately after the war you waged in 1965, then 71, then the glacier, Kargil then 9/11 but we held back our distress even at the cost of people lost. You didn’t understand or didn’t try to understand that we could withdraw from it. Watch the fun now. You can run to the IMF or the UN. You don’t listen to them, so why should India too. Cry as much as you can, no one, not even the OIC will wipe your tears.

One more provocation and all hell will break loose if the Military arm of India has to put you in place is given a free hand. We accept that we have allowed your guys to infiltrate, thanks to the terrain and its vagaries. Be rest assured they will only go down six feet under. If push comes to shove, their bodies will be set on fire which you guys dread.

Our ordnance has been gathering dust for many years. We have been extending the shelf life of the rounds because of the cease fire agreement which you break often. Be rest assured that one round of yours will be answered with 1000 rounds of ours. It is high time we refresh our inventory with fresh munitions and test the efficacy of the effect of what old shells do on the target area. Be prepared as the wrath of the Indian Army is just waiting for a green signal. The Airforce and Navy will join the merry making alongside.

Gen saab, if you cannot address your internal situation of jihadis & terrorists which you created, why create a situation to divert your country’s attention by doing such deplorable and heinous acts in India, that too on unarmed civilians. ‘Maa ka doodh piya hai to’ fight with our forces and not lay ambushes on people travelling on chutti in buses and enjoying a picnic.

Pakistan is not involved in India but India is involved in every thing which goes wrong in Pakistan including Jaffar Express hijack, target killings, Baluchi uprising, aiding TTP and TTA etc. The world will believe you. You have let the water rise above our nose but we love to breathe in peace not rest in peace. So, beware.

We will hurt you where it hurts most because you have hurt us so badly. We still had not gotten over from the previous grievous injuries and you sprinkled salt on our wounds. What does Pakistan expect in return? An olive leaf, my foot!

If you think you can divide Hindus and Muslims of India then forget it dear “NON Islamic Republic of Pakistan”. You do not know what the ‘Kalma’ says, and you do not understand the Quran. Pakistan understands blood because of the daily bloodshed your own people do to you and your forces.

With water gone, diplomatic ties gone, exchange of patients stopped, military attaches withdrawn, borders sealed, do not run towards the town. You aid, abet, export, fund terror in the name of jihad and freedom struggle, well, be ready to see how this backfires. From Pakistan cut to size in 1971, you will now be split into fragments. Good luck.

Remember, we can also withdraw from the ‘First use’ of nuclear weapons at any time, thanks to you. You have pushed us to the wall, so there will be a reaction. Pakistan can stay in a state of denial, so drown in it. Don’t give us ‘Geedar Bhabkis’, because your existence is at stake. We do not buy it.

My angst is so deep that paper will run short. All those peaceniks and Aman ki Asha guys, time has come to change your spectacles. Earlier the better. Now that the general, his ilk and cohorts have run towards the town, let us give them merry hell from every direction possible for that rogue state to stop all nefarious activities till the end of earth.

No more shall we offer the second cheek; it will be a hard punch in return.

What more is in store to get Pakistan to its knees? I wonder!!!!!

FINGER ON YOUR LIPS

LT COL NOEL ELLIS   29/IV/2025   What has happened to Pakistan? While India is doing Fauji Exercises, Pakistan has mobilised for what! I agree that the people of India want revenge. But, from whom? Our PM has only said that “we will not leave the terrorists and their supporters till the end of the Earth”. He has never said he will sort out Pakistan, or has he?   It has been hilarious watching discussions on Paki social media channels. They seem to have already given up. Our RM meets the PM and Pakistan starts shitting bricks. They talk about jazba and gazwa, and start telling us about their nuclear arsenal. 160 I suppose. By the way we will send across one equivalent to your 160 if need be.   There is a saying, ‘Chor ki Dari main tinka” literal meaning is, a straw in a thief’s beard. However, the deep meaning is that a guilty person reveals his guilt through his behaviour, even unintentionally. Clearly, “a guilty conscious needs no accuser”...

SCENE AT ELLIS’ RESTAURANT

LT COL NOEL ELLIS   04/XI/2024   Every morning the scene in the Ellis’ restaurant is so refreshing. The notes birds sing sounds like ‘reveille’ being sounded by the buglers. The ‘scenario’ keeps varying with arrival of different birds at different timings.   It is like being a restaurant owner, working solo with minimum help. Yours truly is the waiter, housekeeper, cook, receptionist, barman, purchase manager, accountant, and storekeeper of this shack. Imagine!   Foremost thing in the morning is housekeeping of the garden area, followed by watering the pots. This gives the plants a nice bath, like kids being readied for school.   The first set of ‘clients’ called the ‘Tailor Birds’ appear. They love to hunt for insects which get disturbed by the watering ritual. They sing and dance, hop and skip and carry on chasing moths and worms, without bothering about my presence.   By then the Bulbuls and the Sparrows start lini...

IF THERE IS A WAR…...

LT COL NOEL ELLIS   28/IV/2025   I remember the 1971 war as a small child. We were in Kapurthala Punjab, very close to the Pakistan border. It was an evening in December, I do not remember the exact date. While returning from a friends house, the declaration of war was done as I skipped along the ‘Thandi Sarak’ of Kapurthala.   The gist was that a vehicle with loud speakers was telling people to head home as an "emergency" had been declared and war had started. I ran as fast as I could, shivering with fear and my heart beating unusually fast. Though I was a lap baby when the 1965 war had taken place, it appeared serious business now.   Overnight, Dad and other Uncles started digging trenches infront of our homes. Carbon paper was no dearth in a teachers house, so mom got into an overdrive to stick them to the glass windows. Though the glass had been painted during the 1965 war, some broken panes had been replaced. Mom told ...
