WISE OR OTHERWISE

 

 

I had promised myself to get off the “Idiot Box”.  And then the one and only, the one with blonde hair entered the scene and started a war which no one wanted including him.

 

War being a part of my life being a military man, I couldn’t help pick the remote and search for some authentic news about this conflict. What mused me was that a person called ‘Zelensky’ suddenly started feeling sidelined because all the attention he was supposed to get was withdrawn. No TRP for the media.

 

A few days before Feb 28, there were speculations galore. When will the war start, who will start it, what weapons will be used etc. etc.? Now, they are discussing when will the war end?

 

The war started. Bombs were away from all sorts of platforms falling like raindrops. The country which was being bombed was totally underestimated. They started returning the favours. They involved their neighbours who harboured the US forces as a counter.

 

In the background of all this, I and every common man down to the chaiwala now can rattle out types of aircrafts, stealth or otherwise, aircrafts carriers and nuclear-powered submarines, missiles, ballistic or otherwise, their lethality and precision, their numbers held by each and their production.

 

All channels and their panelists started dishing out pros/cons, nafa-nuksan, consequences, who should do what, how and when, declaring the winners and losers, like in a referee stop contest in boxing they say, well fought blue, red is the winner.

 

Total conjecture, guess work, speculation, supposition, assumptions, inferences, hypothesis, and opinions are all over the media and social media.

 

The extrapolation and deductions of what is going to happen to the world if war does not stop. The losses including economic to every mushroom were calculated. There was bloodbath on the Sensex. Postulation had no end.

 

No one knows what is on POTAs mind but I can say with guarantee the Indian media does?

 

The person who was supposed to control this just kept squinting his eyes and in an air of superiority complex let the pounding continue till the time someone realised that the strait of Hormuz had been blocked. Strait of what? Had never heard of it but now my GK is much better.

 

I only knew the Gulf and now I know the area & population of each emirate, their oil and gas reserves, producing and exporting capacity, the requirement of the world, especially India, the number of ships needed for our daily, monthly and yearly consumption. My goodness, my brain started going around in circles. One ship docking and we were celebrating.

 

Imagine the people who have been bombed since the last forty days non-stop. How must they be feeling and suffering.

 

Then a school of thought erupted as to why India did not directly get involved as a mediator. Arey! Let someone else also do the job. We love Iran and Israel equally. We now have understood the intentions and intent of Uncle Sam. India has a right to stay the way it did.

 

Then a red herring came up that Pakistan has taken the limelight and center stage. O Bhai! Why is someone so jealous? At least once since they came into existence, let them get involved. If they can get things resolved, why not. It would be good for India.

 

Let me in the same breath say that the US is using them liberally. They know how to use toilet paper. That is what their defence minister said in their parliament. Mullah Munir had to jump in because he is the one who calls the shots. Munir might be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. Trump will obliterate Pakistan.

 

By the way, in fauji parlance, Pakistan is doing a runner’s job. The messenger receives a communication and passes it on, waits for a reply and takes it back. Munir is doing COs stick orderly. Pun intended.

 

Do they have a say other than just being a facilitator or a mediator? NO. Given a choice, if Israel can hit Iran with precision, Pakistan is within their range. Just because the US has stakes in Pakistan, Ireal is quiet. Let the US use and throw Pakistan, we shall see what happens. I am not conjecturing but my gut feeling says so. Pakistan also knows it and would make use of this opportunity to keep the US on their right side till as long as they can and get a few loans waived.

 

The biggest speculation now is what if Iran makes a nuclear weapon. My dear friends, they already have one. Who will use it first? If the US or Israel uses it, consequences for Iran would be lethal. When Iran returns the favour, Israel will be obliterated and Donny boy will have hell to pay.

 

All wars need to end soon. Killing the other just because you think you are superior will have consequences. The balloon is up and I am looking forward to the white flag going up soon. Hope good sense on all sides prevails for humanity.

 

Will the warring factions act wise or otherwise? I wonder!!!!!!!
